We're glad to present some fresh material from two Estonian masters of the written word. Both are from the city of Tallinn. The first is Typicalflow; he's joined by MF Lef, who is a member of the famous Estonian, Russian-language rap group Goro Lana. These guys have written some killer material to the music of 297, a composer from the Russian city of Kazan. The release has been spiced up with a couple of remixes from Tallinn colleague Low K and Paranoid One, a beatmaker now living in Germany. The scratching was added by the inimitable DJ Bandit.
This single – from some real Tallinn cats! - will help you better understand the Baltic region's experimental and jazzy hip-hop. We really recommend you give it a listen! It has a truly local flavor: crisp, frozen sounds combine with the warmth of jazzy samples… You'll feel the quality of this excellent release deep in your spine!

Denizo – a member of Jazz Gangsters - offers us some "strange things" in a new release on the Lucky Time label. A couple of months ago, Jazz Gangsters published a debut nu-jazz and hip-hop album entitled "Golden Jazzyland."
During the recording of that album it was impossible to predict how much things would spin out of control – and turn into a collection of broken, dope beats. Maybe that's because Denizo also works as a techno producer. Not long ago, in fact, he published 12inch some fearsome German techno on Shaded Records.
When asked about the recording process for this newer, even more adventurous release, Denizo explained how he had used random sounds taken from a radio set.
"I simply twiddled the knobs, changing stations and recording the result. That's how we ended up with such 'strange things.'"

Jazz Gangsters is a musical project from Saint-Petersburg. The collective became known before the release of its debut album. Since 2008 members of the project have been published thematic musical podcasts that quickly spread all over the internet. "Ma Player" compilation series is good for everyday listening. These compilations devoted to jazzy hip-hop and bebop jazz, are considered to be not only quality mixes but also a real styleguide. The latest album confirms Jazz Gangsters' expert taste and shows once again that they really love all that jazz.
